Edmonton, Alberta → The Open Road
My name is Don Bernes. I'm 72 years old — turning 73 this May — and I'm a recent widower still finding my footing after 33 years of marriage. Rather than sit still with the grief, I decided to hit the road. This journey is my attempt to discover who I am, what I'm made of, and what this next chapter of life looks like. I'm glad you're here for it.
The Man Behind the Miles
I'm a flute maker, a music lover, a man of faith, and a grandfather. I've lived a full and complicated life, and now — somewhere between grief and gratitude — I'm pointing my Honda Pilot south and heading into the unknown. Follow along as I drive through the American West, into the deserts of Mexico, and back again. Every mile, every campfire, every conversation will find its way here.
